Grass-fed sheep grazing on Olympiana Creamery's farmstead in the Greek countryside

01. OVERVIEW

Olympiana Creamery is the only farmstead Greek cheese brand in the United States. Founded in 2009 by Paul Hatziiliades, a Boston native with deep roots in Greek food culture, the company began by distributing family olive oil to James Beard award-winning restaurants across New England.

That passion evolved into something bigger. In 2011, Paul established a fully off-grid, solar-powered sheep farm in the mountainous Arcadia region of Greece. Today, Olympiana produces grass-fed sheep feta, sheep butter, and sheep ghee using time-honored Greek methods and only fresh milk from their own flock.

I was brought on to build a digital home that could do justice to this story: a website that captures the heritage, the land, and the craft behind every product.

02. THE CHALLENGE

Olympiana needed a website that could bridge two continents, educate a market, and honor a tradition:

Heritage Translation
Conveying the authenticity of a centuries-old Greek cheesemaking tradition through a modern digital experience, without reducing it to marketing cliches.
Dual Identity
The brand lives between two worlds. Born in Boston, made in Greece. The site needed to honor both origins and make the transatlantic story feel seamless, not fragmented.
Product Education
Most American consumers default to cow or goat dairy. Olympiana needed to educate visitors on why sheep milk is different, why grass-fed matters, and what farmstead production actually means.

03. THE SOLUTION

I designed a cinematic, narrative-driven website that lets the story sell the product. Every section is sequenced to deepen the visitor's connection to the brand before presenting anything for sale.

01

Cinematic Storytelling Design

Full-bleed hero imagery of the Greek farmstead paired with layered serif typography creates an editorial, magazine-quality feel. The visual language evokes the warmth of the Mediterranean landscape.

02

Origin Narrative Architecture

The site walks visitors through the 'Born in Boston, Made in Greece' journey, building an emotional connection to the land, the animals, and the family before ever presenting a product.

03

Farm Transparency Section

A dedicated farmstead page showcases the solar-powered, fully off-grid operation with real sustainability credentials. Visitors can see the farm, the sheep, and the process.

04

Product-Forward Layout

Clean product presentation emphasizing the unique value propositions: 100% sheep milk, grass-fed, no fillers, 85% butterfat. Each product tells its own story of provenance and craft.

05

Performance-Optimized Hosting

Globally-optimized hosting ensures the image-heavy storytelling site loads quickly for US-based consumers, maintaining the cinematic experience without sacrificing speed.

04. RESULTS

The new digital presence gave Olympiana Creamery a platform that matches the quality of their craft:

01

Authentic Brand Presence

A digital experience that matches the artisanal quality of the product itself, giving Olympiana a platform worthy of their heritage and craft.

02

Story-Driven Conversion

Visitors experience the farm, the heritage, and the values before ever seeing a product, building trust and desire through narrative rather than hard selling.

03

Sustainability Credibility

Transparent presentation of the off-grid solar farm operation gives real substance to their environmental claims, resonating with conscious consumers.

Olympiana doesn't just sell cheese. They sell a connection to the land, the animals, and a centuries-old tradition. I built a digital home that lets visitors feel the Greek sun and understand why this milk is different -- before they ever taste it.
